Wendy Markson is a Toronto-born film-lover, dance enthusiast and arts & culture scene supporter with a background in philosophy, literary criticism and social anthropology. Her academic work focused on gender and feminist theory, the psychology of xenophobia, and cross-cultural experiences of the gender dynamic. Drawing on the diverse cultural perspectives encountered through her studies, along with her propensity to look at conflict from all perspectives, Wendy now works with and promotes alternative dispute resolution, and coaches managers in the Ontario Government on fair, respectful and productive communication and management in a highly diverse workplace. Wendy also works as a host and greeter at Ecstatic Dance Toronto, a community dance event focused on finding a deeper relationship with oneself, others and the world around us through music and dance.

Wendy has been a member of the Breakthroughs board of directors since 2014 and served as Artistic Director for the 2015 festival. She currently sits on the Community Outreach Committee.
