Ashley Catania is a media professional passionate about championing diverse content and using film as a tool for education and social impact initiatives. With a background in film criticism and on screen representation, her aim of working in media is to help build female equity and equality across the industry. She currently works for Cineplex Entertainment as a Marketing Manager in the alternative film department. She began her career as a Media Education Specialist at the National Film Board of Canada where she developed and delivered media literacy and filmmaking workshops to groups across Canada. Her volunteer experiences includes a brief placement at the Ms. Foundation for Women in NYC, the Women's Festival in Toronto and the ongoing support of many emerging film festivals including the London Feminist Film Festival (UK), WIFT-T Showcase, SOCDOCS and now Breakthroughs.
